This group began sitting in July 2013 as an experiment using the 'Basic Guide' published by the 'Scole Experimental Group' in 1996.

We've changed the way we sit over the years. I am continuing to develop trance mediumship and Liz gives a mixture of evidential clairvoyance, inspired speaking and trance...

Our intentions are to receive information that will help us understand the bigger picture, why we are here, what happens when we die, the mechanics of mediumship and how we can help in raising the quality of consciousness...

249th Sitting 01/07/2021

We sat in semi dark conditions and I was wired to the Mind Mirror EEG.

Before starting we did an experiment with the Mind Mirror EEG. I spoke normally for 20 minutes just making stuff up. This was so that Liz could compare the results of me speaking normally against me being controlled.

Liz then did the opening prayer as I tuned in.

I was soon controlled and the communication began...

‘Words develop into pictures for you are beginning to understand the feeling behind the words. This is what you need to grasp. There is much that lays beyond the words, there is much that forms in the minds of those who hear the words and for each person this creates a different picture. But as you unfold the meaning behind those words you begin to understand how it is that you have taken an idea and developed that idea into something new, something untried. The world in which you live in now gives you the tools to express yourself in a way that can be understood. You do not need to put feelings into those words, you merely have to relay a pattern which you feel in your mind. The words are part of that pattern but they do not create the whole pattern. Only you see that pattern in your mind’s eye. Those who hear your words create their pattern and in doing this they will understand you in their own way, in a way that they have developed through living a life in a physical world. You each see the world through your own eyes but at the same time you are sharing that experience’

‘Every lifetime has its story, that story can be remembered, it can be told again, but how much of that story is correct, is identical to how it has been played? The importance of the story is that what has been learnt, that what has been chosen by you. You have created a story by your choices and you have changed yourself by your choices. A picture is a reminder of days gone by, of how you were. Look back at your past and see how you reacted, how you led your life, and now see yourself as you are now. Have you changed for the better?’

‘Turn back time, live in your memories. What are they telling you? Is there anything useful that can help you now in your memories? Your memories served their purpose at that time, to bring you to where you are now. They now serve as a reminder that you have paved the way to something new, something forgotten, something that does not exist in your memory but will exist in your future. A time will come when the future will become more important to you and the past will fade away, for as you look forward you see the emergence, the development of a new idea, new way of thinking, of communicating, of seeing, of feeling. You are still living a physical life, it does not stop you living a wider life, a greater life, a more encompassing life, a life that fills you with joy, a life that touches the hearts of others. You have much to give, you are beginning to understand that, and those that surround you from all walks of life can feel the effect of your thoughts and ideas as they develop, as they help you to change, to become something new, something that has not existed before. Part of you will understand this and part of you will reject it. It is a natural state in a physical world, for you have limits, limits on your expression, limits on your ability to understand. As you grow, as you become more, that understanding will grow with you. As you see why you’ll understand why, why life is so important and why living that life has become a joy for you and for others’

‘Make your story an interesting story, something that can be enjoyed. Know that you are helped; know that you are loved and know that you are experiencing a wonderful life in a place designed for you. Allow your mind to wander, allow your mind to expand and make the most of that life and you can look back and see how you have changed, how you have become a valuable part of evolution, of growth, thank you. Thank you my dear friend, please continue with your experiments this evening. God bless you and good night’

Liz... ‘Good night friend and God bless you’

Liz then tuned in...

‘Got the name Shelley, thinking the poet Shelley, ode to a skylark...’

‘I’m just seeing some, they’re like flower baskets, made of natural, thin layers of wood, with a flat back for going against railings’

‘Felt the presence of my cousin Maurine and she used the name Shelley professionally, called herself Maurine Shelley. That's interesting that she’s around because she came through another medium yesterday evening with quite a lot of evidence and she’s looking very happy and bright. Maurine was a bit like an older sister and I’m really glad to see her so happy’

‘Got the name Shipton which immediately put into my frame an image, a memory of Sally Shipton, one of the ladies I used to look after. This is just connecting with words because I'm also seeing a steering wheel on a ship, wheel with little spikes coming out of it at the end, a ship’s steering wheel. I'm feeling myself on this boat now steering. Just got the word azimuth, don’t know if it’s some nautical term or geographical term, something to do with the globe. Getting the feeling that our reach goes beyond this world. Just get this sense of worlds within worlds, like I'm seeing cities, bubbles within bubbles, talk of a greater reality and what we know of it is so little, what we know is constrained and contained by where we are now, by our perception in this reality and our knowing, or having a sense of a larger reality is largely incoherent, formed by our reading, our dream life, our experiences which are not always coherent, jumbled glimpses, intuitions, visions, and we do try and create a narrative to contain and constrain them, to try and form a coherent picture. All we truly know is from where we sit and stand, where we are now. And where we are now is in truth so little known to us. We investigate, experiment, we survey, but our measuring tools and our perceptions, our senses are limited. We have a sense and a knowing that there is far more that is unseen and undetected and unmeasured by us, beyond our ken like blind men walking through a garden, through a context which we know through the other senses and can only describe in a very limited way. Others with access to sight see differently. And even the little we perceive and know is scanty because we don’t dwell long enough to delineate, to appreciate, to grasp. We are like travellers who keep falling asleep and miss the scenery outside the window, like travellers who are reading a book and missing the scenes and events that unfold around them because their mind is elsewhere. There is that part of us, a larger part that may be travelling, surveying an infinite number of realities, an infinite number of contexts, of which we are unaware because we have our face glued in the book of this reality, book of our memories, our experiences here, but that larger traveller that is us is travelling through myriad realities and contexts simultaneously, bubbles within bubbles within bubbles. Sometimes glimpses from those other realms through which we are travelling catch our attention momentarily in dreams, in hypnogogic imagery unbidden and almost immediately dismissed, forgotten. Humility in the face of the depths of our unknown has to be our companion, has to be our state of grace. The recognition that we are like sleep walkers, like infants, struggling to wake up into the world, unaware, blinkered. Not so different from the worm, not so different from the amoeba, man has the arrogance, priding himself on his achievements, on his knowledge, on his libraries, but in truth he has not progressed so far from the lowly worm. Humility should be the friend, to be the companion of this sleepwalker until he wakes, until his eyes are opened, until he truly sees the scenery of the journeys he is missing’

‘Now I have with me the monk in brown, in a brown wool tunic and hood, garment. The monk who lives in nature. He is watching the stars, he’s touching wood, he is Francis, he says what little we know is to cause us to be humble, is to not think of ourselves as so far above the birds and the bees, that man should think of himself as a servant to all living things on this planet that we call Earth, to serve, to tend the garden, to be a companion to all that lives, a peacemaker, a gardener, a fetcher of water and a chopper of wood, a simple man living a simple life, aware of the depth of his ignorance and the vastness of his unknowing and in that realisation is true wisdom for that is the true state of man. There is little to be learned outside of these four walls, outside of this small area in which you dwell. Everything that there is to be learnt is here and now, and in stillness and in silence and in humility you will receive all that there is, all that you need to know for now. In patience you possess your souls. But when you have sat in the true light of your inner being long enough you will see all that there is to be seen and known, and the illumination will transform your life and you will come into your own and you will possess your soul. Sit in that power in patience and humility and all good things will come to you in the fullness of time. See your life as a preparation, a vehicle, a cup offering itself to be filled, to be filled with the knowledge of God, to be filled with the knowledge of spirit, to be filled with the knowledge of all that is. Keep that cup polished, keep that cup open, keep that cup ready. The time of the filling will surely come and that cup that you have polished and cherished and prepared will pass over with you and it’s waiting will not be disappointed. So, live your life in patience and honesty and integrity and humility, know that at the appointed hour your enlightenment will come... Thank you’

As Liz came back, she still felt herself in a cell with the monk, almost medieval, brother Francis.

I then did the healing exercise, closing prayer and our closing down exercise...
