This group began sitting in July 2013 as an experiment using the 'Basic Guide' published by the 'Scole Experimental Group' in 1996.

We've changed the way we sit over the years. I am continuing to develop trance mediumship and Liz gives a mixture of evidential clairvoyance, inspired speaking and trance...

Our intentions are to receive information that will help us understand the bigger picture, why we are here, what happens when we die, the mechanics of mediumship and how we can help in raising the quality of consciousness...

130th Sitting 21/02/2017


We had the room setup as usual.

I did the opening prayer at 7.20pm, turned out the light and put the music on.

We did the Rainbow Bridge visualisation exercise...

Liz found herself in front of a large brick wall on a moonlit night. There was a black cat with green eyes leaning over the wall grinning at her but hissing at the same time so friendly and not friendly. Liz wanted to get over the wall and join the cat so jumped up and over the wall just like the cat had done and they both landed on the other side where there was a wonderful deep green field with small moss covered mole hills. Liz was now surrounded by many wonderful animals and felt she had to swim through them and changed into a fish swimming through rainbow water. She felt like she should have an ark and take all the animals with her but Liz wanted to go on and felt a hand reaching down and pulling her up. She became a chain of mermaids and fairies reaching up into the sky. Liz then found herself sitting next to an elderly gentleman with white hair who was very loving and felt like a mother rather than a father. He looked a bit like Einstein or Mr Pastry, he was like the epitome of all knowledge and Liz felt he was feeding her with all this knowledge. Suddenly Liz felt like she was in a womb and then was born to be with this man. There was an egg that had split open into two halves and he told Liz to go in the egg and closed it around her. It felt like a space capsule and in it Liz knew she was going to be fed and would absorb all the knowledge. The capsule then became more and more layered, Liz was in the middle developing while around her all these different layers were building up like other bodies, a bit like a Russian doll and Liz was the kernel in the middle and knew she had to feed this knowledge outwards. The living germ in the middle had to grow out bringing the other bodies to life with all this knowledge making them living things, living bodies...

I started off in the séance room with the glass dome in the centre and Liz sitting on the other side. Inside the dome I could see a little man dressed in black dancing around and as I watched I noticed the dome was getting bigger and bigger until it engulfed the room. We were now sitting in this huge dome like a capsule and the black man was still dancing around. Then a rope ladder came down to him and he climbed to the top of the dome where he started to adjust something like an aerial and as he did so waves of energy like radio waves came down in two streams, one to me and one to Liz and I got the feeling they were feeding us with knowledge. Then two television sets appeared in front of each of us and the screen was just white noise with flickers of light and shapes as if not tuned in properly. Then I started to see images flash up on the screen, I saw World War 2 scenes then the face of Leslie Flint, then Colin Fry, then Magnus and then Joan who became clearer and three dimensional and held out her arms towards me. I grabbed hold of her arms and pulled her out of the TV set. She walked around the room and was saying what a wonderful room it was and how lucky we were to have a permanent purpose built séance room to use each week. The Mercury Circle had had to move from place to place and set up the rooms each week. She told me that all the mediums and guides I had seen flash up on the screen had a part of themselves connected to this and many other developing circles and were helping us all with our development. She sat down and closed her eyes and I saw waves coming from her to Liz and to me much like I had seen coming from the aerial and then she slowly disappeared...

As often happens there were a few similarities in our two visualisations.

I put the music back on and we continued the session...

The room started to look light and misty to me, then I started to see bright blobs coming and going in front of me.
The front of my legs got cold.

Liz drifted off into a kind of mind awake, body asleep state then began to speak as the last tune was playing...

'I thought I heard a very tiny voice, I think it said Dominic... It's like I'm looking at an arch, different colour bricks, red, white, grey... I had Susan... Someone running along like a swan on a river, flowing along with the current. The image has changed to a toboggan racing down a slope of snow, feeling of something moving gracefully without resistance, swiftly and smoothly, smooth transfer, coupling, receiving. It's like a window of opportunity I'm being given... fortitude...'

'It looks like a lady getting off a train, my cousin Judy at the station, climbing up some stairs, it's like I'm looking at a great flower opening'

'I get an old fashioned baby's pram, black and white, got the name George, all these hands around this baby'

'I've got this strange image of all these people being hung on hooks like old coats, as if they've hung up their coats and are fading into a mist, a rainbow mist, waving goodbye'

Me... 'Sounds like people leaving the Earth plane'

'I've got this fog all around, it's like looking through a mist catching glimpses suddenly, like looking at a beautiful landscape or painting through a key hole into this enchanted light filled landscape. You want to go there, it's just swimming in light and without seeing the details you just know all the details are there, every little leaf, it's all vibrant with light, like looking at dew drops on a plant that are lit by the sun, full of rainbows. I've got a wise old owl, ticking away the clock, an alarm clock, a question of time, like the dream and the shock of an alarm that wakes you out of this glimpse of another territory and brings you back into this more stark concrete fixed time ridden reality, much more black and white, darker with hard edges'

'I'm watching feet, keep walking along a path, treading, progressing, lots of brown, a line of workers like a labour exchange, lots of laborious work. There's a glimpse of this idyllic place of ease and beauty. The value of this waking reality, the one step at a time it's like looking slowly at a shiny conker in your hand, the firmness, the rotundity, the brownness, the fixedness of the high definition just like coming bang up against a wall, forcing your focus, forcing your presence in this reality and a glimpse of the colours all flowing, mixing, very fluid but back to here, to the chestnut, the chestnut tree, strong fixed sharp lines, contrast, step by step by step, plodding, patience, learn the patience...'

'I feel as if I'm in a robin's nest and the intricacy of the weaving of the nest and the patience of the bird sitting on the egg. Things take time and that time is eked out, hours minutes seconds, days nights weeks, very little changes in that time but very slowly there are transformations. There's a possibility of being a witness to the smallest changes and then you slip into the other reality, the bubble, the effervescence, fluid, quick silver, where things are changing so fast, flowing into each other, very little definition, almost no time to hold onto anything, like reflections in a lake that are changing and shifting with the light so it's constant movement, subtle shifting, a great beauty and phantasmagoria, tantalizing and then back to the slow ponderous world, patience, one step at a time, one second, one minute, one hour, one day, one week, one month, one year, seven years, a span, seven years to change'

'Come back after fifty years and not a lot has changed. See the eye, the eye that records and the diarist who records with patience and the artist who tries to paint, to immortalize a scene with great love. The opportunity to flesh out and embody, to deepen the experience of the physical plane with five fingers, five toes, two eyes, two ears, a nose and a mouth. We are given the portals, the senses, the ways of recording, testing, tasting, fixed and transfixed and the spirit part of us wants to fly above the speed of light to its home but it's learning, leaning to be patient, to be born, to immerse itself in a new phase, slowed down in treacle, crystalized, like being frozen, going from steam to water to ice and then suddenly melting again and freezing again and melting again. The transition from one state to another is making us wise, is making us co-creators, participants in the phase changes, in the magic, in the mathematics of the universal mind'

'When we become adept at shape shifting, living slow and living fast, moving between one reality and the next, then we become masters of change and transformation, then we can begin to truly grow into what we will become and into everything that there is to know as if we will finally fill out the whole picture, the whole of what we really are. There are parts of us in shadows still, parts of us that are not realised, parts of us like a dark room that's not yet been illuminated. We are still in our little corner but slowly as our eyes accustom more and more is seen until the whole becomes clearer and clearer and then we will know as we are known but for now one step at a time, second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, with patience we fulfill our part of the picture'

'I have an image now of a great table, it's like the images of the last supper, the table at which we are invited to share the feast, to participate, to take on the majesty, we are invited with love to share in the feast and the great mystery of the Christ and the baptism, the crucifixion and the resurrection and to join with the whole creative plan to share in the feast with love and I see the swan again swimming down the river, spreading its wings. It's content to flow down the river but it's also content to spread its wings and fly into the air'

'I feel as if I'm a bird flying through the blue sky, soring. I'm alone but I also know that the sky is full of birds and when I am content to be one and many simultaneously I will know I've come home'

'I have a sense of a figure standing in front of me, a gentleman in what's like Elizabethan dress, somebody like Francis Bacon in front of a grate, a hearth and the coals seem to have almost burnt out, it's not a glowing fire. This man is dressed in black and white, he has a poker in his hand, I'm not sure if he's trying to rekindle the fire or is content to see it go cold'

I asked Liz if she had anything else about Susan who she mentioned at the beginning.

She got an image of glass Pyrex dishes upside down and flowery birthday cards.


I then put a tune on to help Liz come completely back before I did the healing exercise, closing prayer and our closing down exercise...

129th Sitting 14/02/2017


We had the room setup as usual.

I did the opening prayer at 7.10pm, turned out the light and put the music on.
We did the Rainbow Bridge visualisation exercise...

Liz found herself in a midnight blue scene with a full moon at the roots of an enormous shining silver birch tree. She had followed a girl with a hood on into this wooded glade and there was a large pool there. Liz thought of the spirit guide Silver Birch and the emphasis was on Silver. She then found herself with an Indian Chief who then turned into a Tibetan, quite rotund, with a moustache. Liz wanted to be in the pool, in the water and he told her that was fine as it was easier for spirit to make contact when we are earthed in water. The water was silver and felt like velvet as the moon reflected on it. Liz was aware of dragonflies and other insects and was shown the larvae and the dragonflies immerging from their nymphs. Liz then saw a group of Aboriginal people eating the roots of bulrushes or lily stems and was shown that this lifestyle was very important, the contact with the Earth, living with nature. She saw the seed of the bulrushes, the germ of the seed and the new plant coming out of it. It was the teaching of the creative process that goes on iterating, repeating the process and evolving as a pattern and in every single bit of it is a whole, a whole new beginning. Liz was made aware of this. By just sitting in the pool in this one place the whole richness of the creative tapestry was revealed, was seen in its developing intricacy and Liz realised that the chaos theory somehow explained that process mathematically...

I saw a young girl dancing like a ballet dancer and as she danced strands of silvery web were trailing from her and building up on the ground. She started circulating round and round me building up a wall higher and higher then closing in at the top like a dome. I was now encased in this silvery dome. It wasn't dark as light was getting in and I could see shadows of things moving around outside it. Then it started to split open as if two hands were pulling it apart. I looked out and saw a huge bird like a crow in a nest. It was as if I was immerging from an egg and I saw other eggs in the nest with people crawling out of them. The bird then started to feed us, not with food but with thoughts saying the only thing it couldn't feed us was experiences, these we had to have ourselves but it was feeding us all the tools and information needed to help us experience and it was up to us whether we used them or not. We then all took off into a cloud to begin a new life...

I put the music back on and we continued our session...

It started to look misty and light in the room to me.
I had a pressure in my right ear.
Then it became blobby in front of me and I saw a few pin prick lights.
My left leg went fuzzy for a few seconds from the knee to the foot.

Liz started...

'I seem to be looking at a cake doily, a lace table mat. I have my old friend Susie Buckridge with me and she's brought along another friend Alice'

'It's like I'm going into a doorway and there's a big lion or creature in it, it's okay I'll go through. It's turned into a big wicker basket getting deeper and deeper, going down a long way... seems to be going round a corner... going round a spiral like a cork screw. Crown, an image of a king on a throne, old King Cole was a merry old soul. Got a sense of a very radiant smiling presence, jolly, like a cockerel, iridescent feathers, tail feathers turning in, cantilever, sort of joint... feel as if I'm in a racing car at the wheel... I've got somebody who looks like Spike Milligan, a thumbs up sign, sense of a boat, now seem to be on a toboggan or sledge racing down a slope, Christina, get a sense that name is like a female Christ, got a kinetic sense of drumming like being inside a vehicle, being inside a floatation tank'

'Coming back to these doilies, got a girl with long flaxen hair and a cap... a long line of people pushing each other along, they are in wheelchairs... a space seems to be forming, got the name Simon'

'Got somebody that looks like my Uncle Bill, got my dad with him, they're looking around a bit, they're being a bit irreverent, they've got something that looks like it could be a religious symbol connected with the Torah, making a bit of a joke of it, gooning around, they look happy, perhaps they decided that all those religious fetishes and rituals were just paraphernalia, didn't do a lot to tell you about the real life, a life that continues, a life that's full of fun, a lot of exploring to do'

'Something about snowballs...'

'Got a picture of Aunty Binky, she's alright now, she had dementia, it's like a photo album, a lot of my family... I'm wondering if they are all pleased because of these babies that have been born, yes there's three new babies in the family, on both sides of the family'

'I've come back to cats... unless it's Kate... Pricilla, Prudence, yes the doilies could be Pricilla, Wolfie... and the cat, she loved cats... that could be the connection with royal, Wolfie used to be a royal seamstress and she worked with people in wheelchairs, people with disabilities'

'Georgian, sense of pedigree... like a large umbrella, parasol, parachute... Pinewood Studios, Coventry'

'Something to do with Alice, a headband, a scarf tied around the head... She's turned into a rabbit'

'I'm asking is there anything for Nick... you haven't got an Aunt Fanny?'

Me... 'No I don't think so'

'Funny... looks like violet, picture of an iris in a clear glass of water... now seems to be in a large top hat... got a sense of pebbles, connection with Pevensey Castle, I can see the tea rooms... now towards Hooe to Battle. I'm looking at lining material, brownish gold heavy material, looks like the lining material inside a top hat or a hat band... a strange small man like Popeye... connection with a funeral, lining material of a coffin... got the sense of the stitch around my midriff... ducks in water... Dorothy'

There were quite a few things in what Liz said that had something to do with my family and friends. Some may have been coincidence but I felt she did have a connection at times.

Liz then asked for a tune to be played as she came back.


I did the healing exercise, closing prayer and our closing down exercise...

128th Sitting 31/01/2017


Just before we sat Liz was feeling herself being moved sideways and had an image of Leslie Flint.

We had the room setup as normal.

I did the opening prayer at 7.10pm, put the music on and turned out the light.

We did the Rainbow Bridge visualisation exercise...

Liz started off on boggy dark ground full of water with bluebells and wild garlic. Her feet were in the water. In the distance Liz could see an aqueduct with many arches and she was drawn towards it. She turned into a blackbird and flew up and on top of it looking down at all the water courses below. She then saw lots of telephone wires around her forming an intricate net. Liz didn't know which one to look at and wondered if there was one ringing for her or lit up. She then got the idea to look for a rainbow and saw one stretching out from her towards one of the wires then found herself pulled towards it. She suddenly found herself going up and up on an upward spiral, like a multicoloured kaleidoscope. At the top Liz found herself coming out onto a platform which was all white light and she felt there were hands lifting her up. A group of people were there who felt like royalty, they seemed like jewels but Liz couldn't focus as the light was too blinding. They told Liz she would get used to the light and then she became aware of a fountain like a dolphin's mouth forming rainbows and through these rainbows Liz caught a glimpse of a wonderful garden that looked like it was full of jewels shining bright but she still couldn't focus on it...

I started off on top of what appeared to be the Eiffel Tower in Paris looking down and seeing all the life below me as sparks of light moving around in different directions creating trails of light like headlamps on moving cars. Then the top of the tower started to sway and changed into a dinosaur with a small head, long thin neck, large body and thin tail, a bit like a sauropod. I was sitting on its head and the ground below looked baron with very little life apart from the odd stationary spark. I sensed that the dinosaur was hungry and felt lonely. I imagined some plants and soon the baron ground was full of lush green foliage which pleased the dinosaur and it started eating. Then other similar dinosaurs arrived to share the food and it no longer felt lonely. It then changed back into the Eiffel Tower and I was back at the top again looking down at the life below and got the same feeling that it was hungry and lonely. I sensed the hunger was for more knowledge, everyone had become bored with the day to day physical life and felt lonely because inside they knew that there was much more to life but couldn't break out of their day to day routines. I felt that a spark of interest was now needed to put people on a path to greater knowledge and understanding and that spark was happening now, coming from many different sources...

I put the music back on and we continued the session...

Liz got Krakow, Poland.

I was seeing flicker effects in the room a bit like a flickering candle flame.
It started looking lighter to my left.
Then I saw big bright blobs coming and going.

Liz got an image of the father in Steptoe and Son.

She continued...

'A delicate matter, somebody's washing their arms, stretching their arms out like an embrace'

Liz got a strange picture of a rather distorted parrot... She felt she was being told to just repeat whatever she got parrot fashion.

Liz then felt she had been sent to Croydon where there was a connection with a medium called Leslie who she met there a long time ago.

Liz continued...

'Bernie, crossroads, squeezing a tube of toothpaste'

'I'm being sent down a tunnel, a sort of direction, someone is pointing, a bit like a conjurer, magic wand, a conjurer's wand pointing in that direction, to my right... table, tabling a motion in parliament... testing, walking stick... Christchurch... I'm being led to someone to shake their hand'

'Pebbles or pueblo'

'The direction was westwards'

'Earlier I had seen a gentleman with a short white beard and spectacles who had a sort of sea captain look, proper, neat, well groomed'

'Fuller or Fulborough'

'I was asking where am I being led and am being told to just be patient and get the words right... I got Margate but I resisted that as it's a different direction'

'Midwich cuckoos... sense of a spiral going round and round in my head'

'Strange image of somebody juggling lights from a film set... Somebody is saying imagine you are on a film set and I am the prompt and you just have to repeat what I'm saying'

'Got a sense of a hot air balloon with a basket under it... humbug'

'I've got the sense of the Eiffel Tower... Timotei shampoo, not Timothy, to do with hearing, French'

'George... talking about a garden, digging a garden, cultivating a garden'

'Got this funny cap like a knotted handkerchief, a sense of fun, chill out... Imogine, lemonade'

'Got the word rosebud which turns into an image, a symbol of something that's still tightly closed, not opened up yet, but a hopeful image too, a rosebud can blossom and open up, just needs the right conditions or the right gardener. That's a true point to end on, that mediumship within us has many possibilities like a tight bud, with patience and the correct tendering and nurturing it can open. It will open in due course to full flower but you have to create the right conditions. For a good rose to open you have to cut away a lot of debris, you need a well pruned bush so that all that energy is going into that one bloom, if not you get a lot of inferior blooms'

Me... 'Yes that's like all the noise in your mind, cut away that noise and you get the true message'

'and of course the rose depends on the gardener too, you have to link with the gardener, have to learn to trust, let the gardener work, trust that the pruning will be good, not to resist... I was told in Croydon not to have too many irons in the fire, be much more effective to focus on one, one strong connection'

Liz was now feeling back with it.
